Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend danny and I did, what it seemed like, a lot of traveling and i of course did a lot of picture taking! I know its been awhile since I last wrote about our married life, well i guess its really only been like a week but that a long time in blog world, but anways hopefully the next couple of days I will be able to make up for lost time/stories!

Starting this past Friday, we were both really excited about having a 4 day weekend! Dont get me wrong, we both love our jobs and are very thankful for them but none the less its always nice to have a day off. So after we both got home on Friday...we ended up sleeping for like 2 hours (nothing exciting there). Its amazing how a week of worth can really ware a person out. However, after we woke up we went and ate at Chili's which is always a great place for us to eat bc i always order a kids meal & a water and danny will sometimes order an appetizer,  making our dinner pretty cheap =) After chilis, we decided to go rent a movie, and quickly after realizing there wasn't much out, we decided on 17 Again, and surprisingly  we both really enjoyed it.

Saturday morning, after having biscuits and gravy (butter/jelly was also an option) we headed out to Abilene, to check on danny's condo that he rents out because he is getting new tenants this week. We were able to do a little bit of painting, some cleaning (mostly scrubbing bath tubs) and meet the new people who will be moving in. This little day trip to Abilene was pretty special to us. Mainly because it had been over a year since either of us had been there.  The condo that danny rents out is the one he lived in, and is where he proposed to me out on his balcony ( i started crying once we got there). So many memories in his apartment and this town. We drove around passing all the old places we use to go to and all the random places we had both lived throughout our time in college. We did a lot of reminiscing, a lot of laughing and I did a lot of "aww-ing." After we finished up with the house, we ate at our favorite chinese restaurant in the state...china star. yummy! china star has never let us down and we have really been missing it since we moved. Theres really nothing like a chinese buffet that also has  mini corn dogs, fried shrimp and packets of ketchup mixed in with their all the chinese food! sooo good! Heres a couple of pictures of a our little trip in abilene:

We then drove back that night, because the next morning we were traveling to Hico, tx with my dad & stepmom to go dove hunting. Hico, is definitely the country, meaning theres not even a mall within like 400 miles ( amworthy mall that is). My grandpaw owns a pretty good piece of land in Hico and its a place that I've been going to since I was about 8 years old. It was kinda of nice for danny to go and see this "country girl" life style i once had, however that lifestyle no longer exist. haha. I will admit "hunting" with danny  and murphy was pretty fun.  I was very good at keeping myself (and murphy) entertained and pointing out birds (whether it was a dove or not). Danny and I eventually figured out a very good strategy and I would like to think I played a very big part in his shooting of 2 dove! Murphy enjoyed being out and about as well, but I think he got to the point where he would much rather be indoors. I'm pretty sure we have a high maintenance dog on our hands. For example, murphy was scared of the shot gun and covered his ears pretty much every time I covered mine.  Also, whenever I would pour him water he would dump it out because dirt from his mouth would get his in it. ooo murphy, despite his spoiled ways, he did great this weekend with all the traveling and we havent had any accidents all weekend! Heres A LOT of pictures from our trip...sorry, i had to do something during the 4 hour hunt!

wooo well i apologize for this being so long! but it was a long..fun weekend!! hope you enjoy!

see ya tomorrow..expect a post probably every night this week!
