Anyway, danny has finally persuaded me to start working out at 5 in the morning and so tomorrow is day 1, im really not that excited about it but he has somewhat promised that if i work out with him then he will start running with me. I use to run cross country when I was in high school and I really have been missing it lately. Ive always had a secret desire to run a marathon but I dont want to sound too cliche, if that makes since only because it seems like its one of those things that "everyones doing". My friend Nicki is a now a runner and reading about her determination to run marathons has inspired me to do somewhat the same. A couple of girls I work with also participate in races on weekends rather it be to support a charity of some sort or to reach a goal they've been working for. I quit cross country when I was a senior in high school, the only thing i ever quit, well besides softball but i had much better reasons for that, its just not normal to want to bat with your entire catchers equipment on due to being scared of the ball. Anyway, i quit cross country because of a couple of reasons, one because it wasn't a cool sport and other kids would yell "run forest run" another reason is because i got really tired of just...running. I wasnt running for anyone or anything...I was just running and wheres the fun in that? But now, I wanna run to reach a goal of running a full marathon, knowing this will probably take me years to get to...i hope one day i can and that my husband will run with me =)
I realize that I completely just got off topic here but just wanted to keep you updated on our lives =) okay okay okay...heres the circus pictures!!
YAY Amber!!!! Running has been such a great way for me to exercise... I've lost 10 pounds since January! :) And it's such a great feeling when you accomplish a lot of miles. You're at a huge advantage with having run before! You'll be surprised at how soon you'll show progress. I know that feeling of it being cliche or like everyone's suddenly training for a half-marathon, but so what?! I say, "the more the merrier!" and those who really stick with it will outlast some of the bandwagon runners! ;) Good luck with running in the morning. I know it's hard to fit it in when you're working an 8 - 5. Keep me updated!!!!
