We're Having a Baby!

April 6th, 2010
I had gone to dinner with my best friend Amelia, like we do every tuesday night, in order to keep in touch with whats going in each others lives. After dinner, I came home and took a pregnancy test, not because I "was late", not because I felt sick, and especially not because we were trying. I took a test because I had a feeling, an intuition, or something like that. I wasn't suppose to actually start my period until April 9th. So, like I was saying I took a test, I came straight home from dinner, went to the bathroom and pee'd on a pregnancy stick that I had bought a week after I had a couple dreams about being pregnant with twins. The test to the say the least...was "skewed." Not really sure what it said, not positive but not negative. I showed Danny and he immediately went into denial mode.

I arose at 5:00 AM to take another test, after taking time to actually read the instructions it said to use your morning urine, so thats what i did. and this time it was clearly positive. I hid the test. Knowing that danny would not want to hear this news so early in the morning I decided to wait and not jump to conclusions and also spend some time gathering my thoughts, thinking "maybe false positives do exist." (according to literature, they dont.)  I got dressed, went to work, stayed at work till about 2 in the afternoon and then went straight to target to get another pregnancy test. 4 more to be exact. All of which were positive. I immediately texted my sister, but soon learned she had a new number so apparently some stranger got the message i was pregnant, hopefully it wasn't anyone related to tiger woods.

When Danny came home this is what he first saw the moment he walked in the door.

My first prenatal appointment! We did take pictures at the appointment but I dont have them with me to put on here. We had our first sonogram done! Seeing this tiny little hearbeat was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. The heart beat was 139, this makes me think its a boy. Heres the sonogram pics!

At 8 weeks, I decided it was time to start taking pictures of my belly. Mainly because babycenter.com told me to. And because I think I will need the inspiration for after the baby is here. =) So heres a pictures immediately after i woke up from a nap and went to throw up. Oh did u want me to spare you the gruesome details? =)

May 8th-10th
We spent mothers day weekend telling all of our family and friends the good news, its amazing how much support and blessings we have received. So Thank you!!!

Danny and I are so excited for this little bean growing in my tummy! It is still a little surreal to both of us, especially knowing it wasnt something that was in our plans, at least not in our plans any time soon. However,  we both know and trust that the Lord's plan is far greater than any plan we could make for ourselves. Little Baby Ruth is due December 20th, I think a Christmas baby is just perfect! =)

whew...now that the cats finally outta the bag and i can get back to blogging. for 8-9 weeks now i couldnt write anything without feeling like I was a big fat pregnant blogging liar. and now i feel so free. still sick and vomiting, so if u have any suggestions that doesnt involve a prescription, saltine crackers, ginger ale, sprit, gatorade, tums or zantax i would love to hear about it!

  5. I'm so sorry to hear that you're sick. I was sick with both boys, but with Fount, I thought I was going to die. I had to go to the ER twice bc I couldn't stop throwing up. I ended up getting on two medications and it helped take the edge off. Our babies are resilient. I lost 15 pounds and my little guy kept growing along the way- just perfect. All the suggestions you mentioned were given to me and none of them worked :) Just make sure that you keep hydrated, even if you can only take an ounce or so at a time. A nurse told me not to drink anything while I was eating, to wait a bit. I wish I could help. I'm thinking of you and so excited for you and Danny!
